Penwith Moot Beltane Ritual
2.00pm Sunday 1st May 2016
Bosavern Community Farm
The Penwith Pagan Moot will gather to mark Beltane, the
beginning of the summer tide, with a celebration of potency, fire and the marriage
of the Goddess and the God.
This is the third of our Rituals written and led by Esoteric
Author and Celebrant, Gemma Gary.
Our venue is at Bosavern Community Farm, near St Just. We
will be able to have a maypole, and also a fire to jump, and there is a
standing stone with a view of the sea and Chapel Carn Brea, and there is a
compost toilet in another field.
Directions – coming west from Penzance on the A3071, turn
left just before St Just onto the B3306 (towards the airfield and Sennen) after
one bend the road goes downhill and the Farm is the first entrance you come to
on the left, and will be marked by streamers on poles. The entrance is cobbled;
go between the buildings and park in the yard, or go through the yard to park
in the field, and you will be directed from there.
Please wear red or fire colour clothes if you can, or at
least some item such as a scarf, and as the ritual will be outdoors, you will
need reasonable footwear for the field
which is flat but slightly lumpy. Please bring – 1) firewood, 2) £2
towards costs as usual, 3) food and drink to share, 4) a rug to sit on, or a fold up chair. 5)
musical instruments, especially drums.
Finally, if the weather is a little windy or rainy, we will
hold an alternative ritual inside the wonderful circular mud house, so it will
go ahead unless it is an absolute storm. If in doubt, phone Dave late morning,
before 12.30pm.
Everybody Welcome,
Blessings
